The publication division of the Kala Bharati Foundation has made a modest contribution towards publishing material that reflects Indian cultural heritage in the Canadian context. For a number of years, PATRIKA, a bulletin in French, was published four times a year, to serve as a calendar of events. The emphasis has now shifted from activities and events to articles on topics related to Indian art, culture and heritage, which are being published as "Cahiers d'information".

Kala Bharati has made considerable efforts to create and maintain a climate of work and study in which the students' interests in dance is preserved. It is in this spirit that Mamata Niyogi-Nakra has produced two pedagogic note books, NRITYA LEKHA I and II. Monographs are also available containing articles and proceedings of the different symposiums and seminars organised by Kala Bharati. A series of articles on dance: pedagogy, choreography, technique, are also being published under the title "Beyond the Natya Shastra©".

"Some time ago I wrote to you about your 'Nritya Lekha 1 & 2' publications. You were kind enough to send me a copy of both and some information about The Kala Bharati Foundation. I found both extremely helpful as I have a particular interest in teaching dance to young children.

I am currently involved in a project to compile an education pack for a new Asian Arts Resource Centre in Birmingham (SAMPAD).

Although I have not directly used your publications, I know that both these, and your interesting article in the Daci Conference Report (Volume 3) have influenced my ideas."
